Through an investigation of geological (transformative) processes, the materiality of stone and its vertiginous perspective of time, ‹Excavation Series I and II› approaches the human body’s ability to create change. Focusing on the prerequisites of movement, Anna Pehrsson peels back layers and folds to reveal where it origins, points of generation and how they are propagated in bodies and space.

‹Excavation Series I and II› is organized as a multidirectional mass – at once a hot liquid and rock lurking around the corner – a comet’s tail blasting through the skies – and a thin layer of evaporated water reaching the pores. Light thins out to darkness, body resonates sound, and grinding becomes seeping, a noise of that which is called existence.
