Parallel to the presentation of Alejandra Pombo Su’s films, Ob/scene Festival hosts a four-day performative exhibition featuring a fragment of the artist’s drawings. These smaller, figurative works function both as a daily practice or journal and as a personal method of reflection and evaluation. They also embody a form of commitment—almost a spiritual practice—concerned less with representation than with the possibility of an image emerging.

The symbolic density, narrative structures, and inevitable relations that appear in the drawings are thus created more by the viewer than deliberately imposed by the artist. Rather than commenting on an established social imaginary, the drawings open up worlds through which new and different imaginaries can grow and take form.

Alejandra Pombo Su

Alejandra Pombo Su is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Her practice is essentially performative, resulting in unconventional approaches to stable media and investigating material and medium in terms of how rather than what. This often produces works that are paradoxical, full of contradictions that appear simultaneously deliberate and accidental, expressive and formal, hasty and repetitive.
Alejandra Pombo Su’s highly distinctive practice has been presented at institutions such as Museo Reina Sofía, La Casa Encendida, CA2M, and Museo de Pontevedra. In 2025–26, she is a DAAD Fellow in Berlin.
